Tudor Cemetery

The location of Tudor Cemetery is on N. Westminster Road 0.45 mile west of the intersection of N. Westminster Road and E. Danforth Road in Arcadia, Oklahoma. The GPS coordinates are 353958N and 0972041W.

Milton D. Tudor filed the land patent in 1897. He and his family lived on the land for several years. The land then changed hands several times until 1945 when Charlie Olson purchased it. Tudor Cemetery is near the NW corner of the property on top of a hill. The cemetery is partly in a clearing and partly in wooded area. Buried there are some of the pioneers of the area. Some of the names are Tudor, Sweat, and Ward.

One of the early pioneers buried in the Tudor Cemetery is Hiram Perkins Sweat. He brought his family to Oklahoma in 1889, settling 6 miles east of Arcadia. A book titled "Remember Arcadia" by Marjorie Baker contains a biography of Hiram and Lutitia Sweat.
